For the seventh consecutive year, the "Leonardo da Vinci" airport of Fiumicino has been declared the best airport in Europe in the category of airports with over 40 million passengers, joined, for the first time, by the "Giovan Battista Pastine" of Ciampino, awarded as the best airport in the continent in the category of 5 to 15 million passengers.
The "Airport Service Quality Award" survey was conducted by the international trade association of airports around the world, Airport Council InternationalWorld, in collaboration with Amadeus, a leading company in the travel sector technologies.
"The seventh consecutive recognition as best airport with over 40 million passengers for Fiumicino airport and the first time for Ciampino airport, awarded in the category of best airport for 5 to 15 million passengers, makes us even more proud and proud to be Italians. Thanks to all the Adr staff, who represent our best business card for tourists arriving from all over the world" comments the Minister of Tourism Daniela Santanchè.
Airport Council International World analyzed the preferences of approximately six hundred thousand passengers in over 400 airports around the world on over 30 indicators relating to the airport experience at departures and arrivals and, in addition to the "BestAirport" award, it rewarded the excellence of Rome Fiumicino in all categories considered: Airport with the Most DedicatedStaff in Europe, Easiest Airport Journey in Europe, MostEnjoyable Airport in Europe, Cleanest Airport in Europe.
To date, only nine airports, in their respective geographical areas, have achieved levels of excellence in all the sections considered by the Airport Service Quality Award, but these are airports with traffic of less than 15 million passengers/year.
"Leonardo da Vinci" is the only airport with over 40 million passengers per year globally to have achieved this result.
