In Italy in the last few days "it has rained a lot, but at the moment we have the Sicily Region which has had to ration water in 150 municipalities. I can't imagine what will happen this summer. In Sardinia something will improve because it rained, but in Sicily it absolutely didn't rain".
This was said by the Commissioner against water scarcity, Nicola Dell'Acqua, in a hearing before the Chamber's Environment Commission.
"We have created a working group between the 7 Italian climate bodies (Ispra Civil Protection, Aeronautics and others) - added the commissioner - and we are trying to give precise indications by district of what will happen in the next 50 years, in order to plan our future".
