Elon Musk will make his artificial intelligence chatbot Grok, a rival of ChatGpt, open source this week.
The entrepreneur made this known on X a few days after suing OpenAI, owner of ChatGpt, for abandoning its original non-profit mission for profit.
“OpenAI is a lie,” Musk replied to a user on X who wrote to him that OpenAI should also do the same.
The entrepreneur's artificial intelligence company, xAI, launched Gork last year, the service is available in the US with a subscription.
The decision to make it accessible to everyone follows the choice already made by Meta and Mistral, who made the source code of their chatbots public.
Musk has long been an advocate of open source.
Tesla, another company he led, has opened many of his patents.
"The OpenAI website continues to profess that its statute is to ensure that Agi (artificial general intelligence, ed.) benefits all humanity. In reality, OpenAI has been transformed into a de facto subsidiary of the largest largest technology company in the world, Microsoft", claimed Musk in the lawsuit filed against the company that owns ChatGpt.
