Growing ginger at home is simple and rewarding.
A little bit of ginger from the store and a little waiting is all you need to get a beautiful plant and harvest your own ginger.
We explain the steps to start this little plant experiment.
Why grow ginger from a piece bought at the market?
Commercial ginger is often grown intensively and can be treated with products that inhibit germination for better preservation.
By choosing to grow your own ginger, you control the process from start to finish, ensuring
a natural, additive-free product.
Plus, it's a great way to reduce waste: even a small piece of ginger can become a whole plant.
It's also economical: for the price of a piece of ginger, you can get an entire harvest.
And what satisfaction to see the fruit of your labor grow and reap!

Take
organic ginger
to avoid products that prevent germination;
Dip the ginger in the water at first;
Afterwards, drain the water and spray it every day;
If you find ginger already germinating, even better;
You can plant the whole rhizome or cut it into pieces, just make sure each piece has a germinal eye;
Place it in a 4 liter pot near a sunny window;
Later, transfer it to a 20 liter pot if possible;
Round pots work, but a wide rectangular container is ideal;
Little maintenance required, just
regular watering
and sunlight;
Use rich soil with compost;
After 8 months, when
the foliage dies,
it is time to harvest.
