The first joint public appearance in years leaves room for speculation.
Miami – Donald Trump rarely misses a chance to be applauded.
Not surprisingly, the former president also appeared at a martial arts event in Miami during the primary campaign for the 2024 US election.
As always when Trump attends events organized by the organization called Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), the crowd cheered him and the cameras rarely left his side.
Trump has always had a good connection with martial arts fans in the USA.
Long before his career as a politician, he appeared in exhibition fights for the wrestling promoter WWC.
He is considered a good friend of UFC President Dana White - and repeatedly uses this relationship to present himself as a tough and at the same time popular candidate at UFC events.
Early on, Trump used his connections in the world of martial arts for the election campaign.
White himself gave a eulogy for Trump at the Republican nomination convention.
The former president is often accompanied to the UFC by his sons Donald Trump Jr. or Eric Trump.

But at UFC 299 on Saturday (March 9), other members of the Trump clan suddenly took a seat next to the head of the family: Ivanka Trump, Donald's eldest daughter, and her husband Jared Kushner.
Until then, neither had shown any interest in martial arts in general or the sometimes bloody UFC events.
On the contrary, in the past the couple rarely missed an opportunity to present themselves as philanthropic lovers of fashion, modern art and classical music.
But now both of them, visibly unsettled, walked into the sold-out hall in Miami to the sounds of Kid Rock.
After his victory in the 2016 US election, Donald Trump brought Ivanka and her husband to the White House as advisers.
The eldest daughter was long considered the representative of the family clan with the most serious political ambitions.
But after Trump's defeat by Joe Biden in 2020 and the insurrection at the Capitol on January 6, 2021, Ivanka distanced herself from her own father.

In November 2022, Donald Trump announced that he would again run for the Republican nomination for president.
Ivanka Trump reacted and announced the end of her political career via Instagram post with the following words: “I have no plans to get involved in politics.
While I will always love and support my father, I will do so outside the political arena in the future.”

In fact, Ivanka Trump made herself scarce after her announcement.
Joint appearances with her father Donald Trump were limited to family events such as the wedding of her half-sister Tiffany Trump, Donald's youngest daughter, or the funeral of Melania Trump's mother.
Will Ivanka Trump return in the middle of the election campaign?
But Ivanka Trump accompanied her father to a UFC event and was photographed smiling in the front row next to him and Jared Kushner.
It's unlikely that the 42-year-old mother of three discovered a passion for martial arts at the same time as her husband.
It seems just as absurd that Ivanka Trump, who is generally considered the smartest representative of the Trump clan in the USA, does not know how to assess the impact of her sudden public appearance.
Another explanation is much closer: Donald Trump's success in the Republican primaries and his good poll numbers in the duel with Joe Biden could also have awakened Ivanka's ambition to try politics again.
