A variant: new building instead of renovation - the old school will remain intact for the time being.

Kirchseeon – For the project “Conversion and expansion of the Eglharting elementary and middle school” an “appropriately competent project management office” is to be involved to support the administration.
The market town council has now decided this.
Kirchseeon
- As things stand, this is a project with a potential volume of 20 million euros.
The town hall was not sufficiently staffed for this, it was said at the meeting.
The administration therefore proposes, as already recommended in connection with the special audit of the “House for Children” by the municipal auditing association for such projects, that an external project management office be involved.
“We are all for it,” said CSU parliamentary group spokesman Paul Hörl.
“We have relevant experience with the House for Children.” Karl-Heinz König (Greens) said: “We have already gotten a bloody nose once.”
Background: The main building of the primary and middle school in Eglharting was built in the 1960s, later expanded and supplemented with a school gymnasium.
Together with the school in Kirchseeon, the Eglharting school forms an educational institution.
Renovating the old building is difficult
The core is in need of extensive renovation.
It's been planned for a long time.
Concepts were developed and architectural offices and specialist planners were involved.
One result: Renovating the old building is difficult.
One variant is modular construction
One variant is now an L-shaped new building in Eglharting in a cheap and quick modular construction method.
Three floors without a basement.
Space for twelve classrooms and other rooms.
The project management office should now also carry out an examination of the previous approaches.
It is also about economic efficiency and the financial possibilities of the Kirchseeon household.
If necessary, new, improved solution scenarios should also be developed.
The office will be active in all matters relating to the project, according to market builder Robert G. König.
“The market is not giving up control.
The management remains in the administration.” “We don’t decide which option we take or what we do with the old building,” emphasized Mayor Jan Paeplow.
It is clear that the office costs money.
How much will be determined by a tender.
