The Berlin fire brigade went on a large-scale operation to provide refugee accommodation at the former Tegel Airport.
A spokesman said 100 emergency services were on the way.
Berlin - There should be a fire in three tents in the emergency shelter.
“We expect several people to be injured,” said the spokesman.
A thick cloud of smoke could be seen over the former airport site.
