Between Oberschleißheim and Munich on Monday, a woman drove her Mercedes into oncoming traffic and collided with two cars, including a small truck.
Oberschleissheim
- On Monday around 1:10 p.m., a 55-year-old Munich woman was traveling from Oberschleissheim towards Munich.
On state highway 2342, the woman drove her Mercedes into the oncoming lane for reasons that are still unclear, the police report.
With fatal consequences.
Mercedes rams small trucks and BMWs
The Mercedes collided with the Citroen small truck of a 52-year-old from the Central Saxony district.
The force of the collision caused the small truck to be deflected to the right into the grass verge.
The 55-year-old continued driving in the opposite lane and collided with the BMW of a 28-year-old from the Dachau district.
The head-on collision caused both vehicles to come to a stop.
All three drivers injured - State Highway 2342 closed
All drivers suffered minor injuries as a result of the collisions and were taken to hospitals by emergency services.
The three vehicles are just scrap and had to be towed away.
The police estimate the total damage to be several tens of thousands of euros.
The state highway was closed on both sides for over an hour while the accident was being investigated.
There were significant traffic delays.
The Munich traffic police have taken over the further investigation.
