Highlights: Christine C. was found guilty of complicity in murder and fraud in the murder of Jacky Sion, 76, on January 31, 2020, in Villemomble. The attorney general had requested twenty-five years in prison against the woman who, with her husband, had defrauded the victim's aunt of 90,000 euros. “No sentence can ever replace their brother and uncle Jacky,” reacts Maître Marie Guimard, lawyer for the civil parties.

Christine C. was sentenced to twenty years of criminal imprisonment for complicity in murder and fraud by the Bobign Assize Court

After a long afternoon of waiting, the verdict fell for Christine C. This Tuesday afternoon, the Assize Court of Seine-Saint-Denis sentenced this 44-year-old woman to twenty years of criminal imprisonment, the finding guilty of complicity in murder and fraud in the murder of Jacky Sion, 76, on January 31, 2020, in Villemomble.

The day before, the attorney general had requested twenty-five years in prison against the woman who, with her husband, had defrauded the victim's aunt of 90,000 euros.

Jacques Sion had asked to meet them.

He died from 11 hammer blows to the head and 22 stab wounds to the body.

Five days later, the accused's spouse, Richard Alexis, a municipal police officer working in Hauts-de-Seine, committed suicide after confessing to the crime in a video, declaring that he had acted alone.

“No sentence can ever replace their brother and uncle Jacky Sion,” reacts Maître Marie Guimard, lawyer for the civil parties, to the announcement of the verdict.

But they feel that justice has been served.

The family of Jacky Sion is therefore not moved by the acquittal of murder.

“The civil parties have never considered that this trial is a game or a match,” explains Marie Guimard.

They respect the decision of the Assize Court and consider that justice has been served.

“We must read the reasoning behind the decision before deciding whether to appeal or not”

Despite the heavy sentence, the defense correctly holds that Christelle C. was not found guilty of the murder of Jacky Sion.

“She has been called a murderer for four years,” notes Maître Eddy Arneton, her counsel.

She is acquitted of murder, it is a first step that has just been taken.

The defense lawyer had argued for reclassification as “concealment of corpses” and “concealment of evidence”.

“The court decided to uphold the complicity that we contested during the hearing,” laments Eddy Arneton.

No weapon was put in his hands.

But Christelle C admitted to having helped clean up the blood.

As the prosecution noted, she had also made purchases for the murder with her partner and accompanied him to Villemomble.

At this time, no decision has been made on a potential appeal.

“We must read the reasoning behind the decision before deciding whether to appeal or not,” says Eddy Arneton.

I don't make decisions on the fly.
