Nine injured, one of them seriously - that is the result of a room fire in Upper Bavaria.
A large number of rescuers were on site, including a helicopter.
Bad Reichenhall - On Tuesday morning, March 12th, a room fire was reported on the second floor of a retirement home on Riedelstrasse, in which a 77-year-old resident was seriously injured and eight other people were slightly injured.
Thanks to the quick intervention of a roommate and the nursing staff with a hand-held fire extinguisher, the fire was prevented from spreading further.
The Bavarian Red Cross (BRK) announced this in a press release.
Room fire in Bad Reichenhall: large-scale deployment of rescue workers
The Traunstein control center dispatched the fire department and an ambulance shortly after 7:20 a.m. after the fire alarm system went off.
The first emergency services on scene discovered that there had actually been a fire on the second floor.
Although the fire had already been extinguished, the affected living area was filled with smoke, which required reinforcements to rescue and care for those affected.
