OpenAI continues to update ChatGpt.

This time it's not about news related to the responses provided by the chatbot but about security when accessing the platform.

As explained in a post on the company's blog, users will be able to activate two-factor authentication to use artificial intelligence.

To do this, simply enable the option in your account settings on the ChatGpt website, under multi-factor authentication.

In this way, you will receive a code to enter when logging in, in addition to your password, on an app installed on your smartphone, such as Google Authenticator.

A move that follows what happened in June last year, with the Singapore-based cybersecurity company, Group-Ib, which raised doubts about the security of OpenAI, identifying over 100 thousand ChatGpt login credentials stolen by hackers and put up for sale on the dark web .

During the process of setting up dual authentication, users are provided with a recovery code that should be kept as it is essential in case you lose your device or are unable to use the temporary key generation app.

For experts, double authentication is much more secure than text messages but it is not infallible.

There are several cases in which cyber criminals pretend to be acquaintances of the victims to obtain the codes received via the app, with the most disparate excuses, so as to violate access to profiles and steal personal data.

“Multi-factor authentication adds an extra layer of security to the login process that makes it more difficult for unauthorized users to break into your account,” OpenAI said.

"Once enabled, the option will apply to all OpenAI services, including ChatGpt, the API development platform and Labs."
