There was an accident on state road 2072 near Bad Tölz on Monday.

An overtaking maneuver went wrong between Geretsried and Bad Tölz.
An Eglinger had to move into the meadow.
Bad Tölz – This overtaking maneuver could have ended badly.
A 68-year-old from Eglingen filed a police report about an accident at around 3 p.m. on Monday.
Between Geretsried and Bad Tölz: Near collision between VW and Mercedes
The man was driving his VW Tiguan on state road 2072 from Geretsried towards Tölz.
There was a Mercedes and a truck in front of him. He wanted to overtake them and swerved.
When he was about level with the Mercedes, it also started to overtake.

In order to avoid a collision, the man from Eglingen had to swerve to the left into a meadow and hit two guide posts with his car.
“The Mercedes driver continued his overtaking maneuver completely unimpressed and did not stop afterwards, even though he must have noticed the driver in the Tiguan,” the police report says.
Mercedes driver can be identified thanks to witness statements using license plates
Since a witness had observed the situation and the license plate number of the Mercedes was known, the driver was quickly identified by a patrol.
The man now faces charges of hit and run.
