It is a “desert college operation” with many demands.
This Tuesday, the parents' association FCPE 75 is calling for protests against the reforms announced by the government and the Ministry of National Education in 25 Parisian colleges.
The association claims to be against “the clash of knowledge”, the project of Gabriel Attal, former Minister of National Education, now taken up by Nicole Belloubet.
This plan announced on December 5 provides in particular for “need groups” which amount to forming groups according to the level of students in French and mathematics from the next school year.
Today operation #collegedesert to Charles Péguy, parents and teachers united against the destruction of public schools!
Parents will not send their children to college this March 12!
We demand the abandonment of the reform and the release of resources commensurate with the challenges!

But this project encounters broad opposition among teachers and school leaders, who denounce the sorting of students and the stigmatization of those with vulnerabilities.
Thus, FCPE 75 opposes “the closure of classes, the sorting of students and the establishment of level groups”, as well as “high school prep”, costly measures such as uniforms or the SNU (Universal National Service, Editor’s note).”
This Tuesday, several colleges from the 10th century (Louise Michel), 11th century (Voltaire, A. Fournier), 13th century (C. Claudel, G. Flaubert, G. Sand…), 18th century (A. Césaire…), 19th century (C. Péguy , G. Brassens, Pailleron…) and XXth (Dolto, H. Matisse….) arrondissements therefore participate in “the deserted college operation”.
FCPE 75 also calls for coordination with teachers and to mobilize before colleges to make known the reasons for their protest.
In parallel with these “deserted colleges” actions, several local councils organize information meetings.
