Russian partisan groups are also involved in the Ukraine war.

They have now struck again and are announcing “fierce fighting”.

Moscow - It's not just Ukraine that wants a Russia without the regime of Kremlin boss Vladimir Putin: Russian partisans and volunteers have now taken up arms together with the Ukrainian military.

On Tuesday night (March 12), they said they entered the Russian regions of Belgorod and Kursk on the Ukrainian border.

Russian partisans attack Putin's soldiers: "Freedom and justice in our Russian land"

For months it was largely silent about the “Siberia Battalion” – an armed group that is part of the Ukrainian military, but does not consist of Ukrainians, but of Russian volunteers.

On Tuesday morning they broke their silence: They published two videos on the short message service Telegram that are supposed to show the battalion's fighters attacking Russian troops in Belgorod and Kursk.

The first video, apparently recorded with a thermal imaging camera, shows units of the force advancing onto Russian soil and attacking Russian soldiers with assault rifles and sniper rifles.

The message: “Now we are finally home.” As promised, “freedom and justice will be brought to our Russian land.”

The “criminal dictatorial regime in the Russian Federation” cannot be overthrown peacefully, but can only be eliminated “with weapons in hand”: “There are fierce fights on Russian territory.”

Russian partisans intervene in the Ukraine war – appeal to vote for Russia

A second video showed at least three fighters from the battalion in a forest.

In the photo, two people kneel next to trees and appear to be looking towards Russian military positions.

Another fighter films himself and his comrades.

According to the video's text message, the partisans are calling on the Russian people to ignore the upcoming elections in Russia.

“Ballots and polling stations are fiction in this case.

Only with weapons in hand can you truly change your life for the better.

Anyone who does not accept a life of poverty and tyranny must make the right choice,” the battalion appealed on its Telegram channel.

At the same time as the “Siberia Battalion” advanced onto Russian soil, the “Russian Freedom Legion” also released new recordings from presumably Russian territory.

This is an independent Russian partisan group, but is reportedly supported by the Ukrainian military.

In a video on Telegram, the "Legion" showed how its fighters crossed the Ukrainian-Russian border at night to attack Putin's troops.

Russian partisan group threatens Putin: “We will take our country away from the regime”

Previously, a video message said: “Like all our fellow citizens, we in the Legion dream of a Russia free from Putin’s dictatorship.

But we don't just dream, we do everything we can to make these dreams come true.

We will take our country away from the regime inch by inch.” The Russians would “sleep peacefully, not be afraid of the doorbell and say what they think without fear,” was the promise of the “Legion.”

“The Russians will vote for who they want, not who they should.

The Russians will live freely,” it continues.

Another video was later shared that appears to show the attack on a Russian armored personnel carrier in the settlement of Tyotkino in the Kursk border region.

At the same time, further attacks were announced.

The partisans also asked Russian citizens for help: They asked people who had information about military units or production facilities on the Ukrainian border to share it with the fighters via a Telegram bot.

Ukrainian intelligence spokesman Andrii Yusov confirmed the clashes on Russian territory.

He said on Ukrainian broadcaster

Kanal 24

that the individual units were separate troops, but were currently "very likely carrying out a joint operation."

The last major partisan attacks on Russian territory took place in May and June 2023.

Russia responds to partisan attack: “Kiev regime attempt foiled”

A short time later, an initial reaction to the partisan attack came from Russia's capital Moscow.

“Ukrainian saboteurs” attempted to penetrate the Russian regions of Kursk and Belgorod from three directions with armored vehicles.

“The Kiev regime's attempt was thwarted by the border guard units and the FSB units,” the Russian Defense Ministry said.

During the clashes, up to 60 “Ukrainian terrorists”, 5 tanks and an armored personnel carrier were eliminated.

The attacks from Ukraine were repelled with aircraft, artillery and rocket strikes.

There was no violation of the Russian border.
