The Lazio regional school office has ordered the suspension of the school director of the Corrado Melone institute in Ladispoli, 40 km from Rome, after the request for an inspection ordered by the education minister Giuseppe Valditara on the case of a 6-year-old child suffering from attention deficit and hyperactivity suspended from school.
In his place the School Office has appointed a regent.
The child's parents had appealed against the school's very harsh sanction, a few weeks of suspension, considering the student unmanageable and the Regional Administrative Court had agreed with them but the principal, Riccardo Agresti, had not let the student in, claiming not to know of the Regional Administrative Court's ruling.
In the sentence of the Lazio Regional Administrative Court there is also the indication to give the child, cared for at Gemelli, a support teacher for all the necessary hours.
At that point the principal had let the student return but the stay at school had lasted only 2 hours: "more hours of assistance are needed for the child but the medical certification is incorrect and we reported it to the parents. It was impossible to manage it and we had to call them", the manager had explained.
Which was suspended today.
