The Equalis affair is not over.
The national Anticor association, which fights against corruption, has just filed a complaint for “embezzlement of public funds” and “illegal taking of interests” against the association.
Equalis, based in Mareuil-lès-Meaux (Seine-et-Marne), helps 11,000 people in social and economic difficulty.
She had already been the subject of an investigation by the services of the departmental directorate of employment, work and solidarity (DDETS), a department of the prefecture for astonishing management of public money which Le Parisien reported. was echoed a year ago.
The prosecution of the Meaux court had opened proceedings on its side.
The lifestyle of its former president, Arthur Anane, with a salary of more than 200,000 euros per year in 2020, greatly surprised the prefecture investigators.
To justify such emoluments, which in theory are proportional to the “turnovers” of the structure, Equalis would have had to generate more than a billion euros annually.
However, the association actually “only” has a budget of 81 million euros, which, let us remember, comes solely from public subsidies.
