Russian military bloggers are angry about false claims from Moscow.
Despite reports, Ukraine was able to expand its bridgehead on the Dnipro River.
Moscow – The Kremlin has drawn the ire of “patriotic” military bloggers with a false claim by the Russian Defense Minister.
According to Russian state media, Ukrainian defenses of a strategically important bridge had been breached.
However, this report turned out to be a lie - contrary to reports, the Ukrainian defense on the Dnipro near Kherson actually appears to have been strengthened.
On February 21, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu told Vladimir Putin that the Russian army had broken the Ukrainian defenses of the river near Krynky.
Ukraine defends bridgehead near Kherson – and pushes back Putin's army
The bridgehead in Krynky, which the Russian army is said to have stormed, is still defended by the Ukrainian army, reports the
Kyiv Post
.
She also personally denied the Russian Defense Minister's account.
On social media, a commander of Ukraine's Southern Command wrote: “We officially announce that this information is not true.
The Defense Forces of Southern Ukraine continue to hold their positions.”

On the contrary - the Ukrainian military was able to expand its position around the bridgehead.
The Kremlin-loyal blogger “VDV Za Chesnost” confirmed the expansion of the Ukrainian position and wrote angrily: “Unfortunately, this is the reality.
This despite Teplinskiy telling Putin that Krynky was taken by Russian troops a long time ago.
Now they have been 'cleaning up' the area for the last two weeks.”
Russian military bloggers angry: Russia's heavy losses due to Ukrainian drones
According to the
Kyiv Post
, another military blogger, “Dnevnik Desantnika,” described the current situation in the Krynky region as follows: “The Ukrainians are dropping reserves and reinforcing their forces in several sectors, but the main areas where they have been spotted are around the Antonowski Bridge and near Kosatschi Laheri.
The enemy has strengthened its drone units, and the sky is teeming with reconnaissance and combat drones.” Like the first report, Desantnika contradicts the Kremlin’s official account.
The losses of Russian troops around the bridgehead were also enormous, a Ukrainian spokesman said, according to the
Kyiv Post
.
Robert Browi, commander of a large part of the Ukrainian drone fleet in the Kherson region, estimated the number of Russian vehicles destroyed.
In total, Putin's army is said to have lost around 230 armored land vehicles since the Ukrainians crossed the Dnipro and pushed back the Russian army in October.
According to this information, the drones in particular are causing the Russians great difficulties in the area around the bridgehead.

reports
also confirm the expansion of the bridgehead on the left bank of the Dnipro.
The Ukrainian General Staff in Kiev said in a situation report on Saturday (March 9) that the Russians had been pushed back, confirming the account of their own troops and Russian military bloggers.
The Dnipro serves as a natural barrier between the Ukrainian and Russian armies and is therefore of great strategic importance in the Ukrainian war.
In addition, the expanded bridgehead will serve as a possible starting point for a counteroffensive in the future - potentially also to be able to advance on the Crimean peninsula.
