Bad Reichenhall - A spectacular traffic accident occurred on Monday evening, March 10th, around 6:10 p.m. at a gas station near the thermal baths on the Reichenhall bypass road.
A 25-year-old VW Golf driver and his three companions from Salzburg and Vienna got off the main road and drove into the gas station without braking.
In the accident, they knocked over a gas pump, rammed a construction fence and a billboard, and moved several larger boundary stones.
The vehicle ultimately remained badly damaged at the fence of the adjacent spa gardens.
Despite the extent of the accident, according to an initial assessment by the Red Cross, only the four vehicle occupants were slightly injured and no other people were injured.

Emergency services check the risk of fire and explosion – the petrol pump is automatically deactivated
The Traunstein control center dispatched the Bad Reichenhall volunteer fire department and the Reichenhall Red Cross to the scene of the accident.
The emergency services took the four men, aged 20, 23, 25 and 34, to the Bad Reichenhall district clinic in two ambulances for further examination.
20 firefighters secured the scene and checked whether there was a risk of fire or explosion.
However, the gas pump had automatically deactivated.
The firefighters took care of the fire, tied up spilled fuel and temporarily cleaned up the devastated site.
They were supported by the spa gardening department with a wheel loader to transport the displaced boundary stones.
Officers from the Reichenhall police recorded the accident on site.
They assume there will be significant damage to the gas station and estimate the total loss of the accident vehicle to be around 25,000 euros.
