No man would want to be a member of the “Club der Slipperhelden”, the latest play by the Bockhorn theater group.

And so there were a few sympathetic Y chromosomes in the audience at the premiere in the rectory: They really didn't want to swap places with Willi Hubbele (Johannes Bartl), Friedrich Beisel (Christian Eiser) and Peter Faber (Bernhard Eichner), who were theirs Women are enslaved.

No wonder they don't want to put up with it any longer.

Bockhorn – But how to escape this dilemma?

Right from the start, Eleonore “Ella” Hubbele (played in a star role by Lisa Freitsmiedl) creates a lot of work for her husband Willi, the personified facial expressions.

He has to dust, cook, fetch clothes from the dry cleaners, he does all the housework.

The lady of the house, on the other hand, prefers to meet Susanne (Johanna Herrling), Peter's wife, and Friedrich's better half Ricarda (Verena Fröschl) in the café instead - work in the broadest sense is alien to all three graces.

They also represent a clear philosophy when they proclaim that a woman “needs a lot of imagination to discover qualities in a man.”

It fits well into the picture that Carmen Siegel (Angelika Baumgartner), barmaid from the “Blue Grotto”, suddenly appears.

The Lords of Creation have probably often complained about their suffering to her, and now the obviously homeless woman is seeking asylum with Willi.

This creates problems, especially since the schlawiner Richie Naumann (Maximilian Mair) also shows up.

In contrast to the three henpecked men, he is self-confidence personified and encourages his peers to openly resist.

But that is easier said than done.

To make matters worse, the cheeky and extremely curious caretaker Christine Zausel (Edeltraud Kaiser) also shakes up the stressed group.

She knows a surprising amount about the things that go on in the house, far beyond the dirt in the stairwell.

And she also reveals to the wives that Richie and her men meet regularly, but she knows nothing about their destination.

Live-lover Richie - who, by the way, entertains the guests with music during the breaks together with cousin Lilly Angermaier - swears the henpecked heroes with drastic words: "Do you want to be real stallions or just castrated farm horses?" While he converts them into "women". When the broom, hat and dress undergo a “training”, the three ladies are still at a loss.

They also puzzle over the appeal of the attractive Carmen, who likes to appear in patent leather and leather and thus charms men.

Ella, in her indescribably direct way, has an answer: “Because it smells like a new car!”

But soon it smells more like trouble, because the three oppressed people have found a solution to make it clear to their loved ones that their oppression can no longer continue.

And at the end, as one would expect, everything dissolves peacefully in kisses and caresses.

The amusing piece directed by Hans Bartl is fresh and true to life and will be performed three more times: on Wednesday, March 13th, at 6 p.m. as a special performance for the Lebenshilfe and St. Nikolaus School Erding (also with remaining places for those interested) and on March 15th and 16th at 8 p.m.

There are still remaining tickets available at the box office.
