A driver suddenly left the B471 at the entrance to Eglfing on Monday evening, rammed a tree and broke through a garden fence.

- On Monday around 5:20 p.m., a 39-year-old from the Munich district was driving his Mitsubishi on the B471 (Vockestrasse) from Ottendichl towards Eglfing (both municipalities of Haar).
At the northern entrance to Eglfing, the car suddenly left the road to the right, hit a traffic sign, drove over the sidewalk and cycle path, broke through a garden fence and crashed into a birch tree.
Lost control due to sudden illness
Police believe the driver lost control due to a sudden illness.
He and his passenger were uninjured in the accident, but the man was taken to hospital by emergency services for examination and treatment.
The police estimate the damage at 21,000 euros.

The Haar volunteer fire department secured the scene of the accident.
Under the leadership of Commander Arne Seifert, 31 forces were deployed.
The B471 was temporarily closed.
