According to statistics on less than 400,000 children born each year, the respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) in Italy leads to the death of 16 newborns, 15,000 hospitalizations, 216,000 cases requiring medical attention. Programming and immunization are the key words to mitigate the risk , to the point of almost canceling it as happened in some countries where in the last flu season (September-March), the health systems took steps to launch new organizational models that can also be replicated in Italy.
But what is happening in the Italian regions and specifically in Lazio?
These are the topics that will be discussed tomorrow from 11am in the Mechelli Room of the Lazio Regional Council during the conference "RSV infections: new tools for the protection of children's health". The meeting will be concluded by Antonello Aurigemma, president of the Regional Council of Lazio, and will see the speeches of Simona Barbaglia, president of Respiriamo Insieme Onlus;
Luigi Orfeo Italian Society of Neonatology;
Alberto Villani, Pediatrics Coordinator of the Bambino Gesù Pediatric Hospital;
Andrea Marcellusi, University of Rome Tor Vergata, President Elect ISPOR Italy Rome Chapter;
Enrico Di Rosa, Italian Society of Hygiene, Preventive Medicine and Public Health;
Teresa Rongai, Federation of Pediatricians.
