Murder, robbery with violence and fraud are the charges that the judge charges José María Lindo, 55, the confessed author of the murder of Vicente Sánchez, 79, a resident of Hinojal, a town located 21 kilometers from Cáceres.

The charges have been made known by the Civil Guard after the secrecy of the summary was lifted, where it is explained that the main motive for the crime was economic, since the detainee stole 2,000 euros from the victim that he had withdrawn from the bank on the day of the facts.

The disappearance, according to investigators, occurred on January 22, after the first analysis of the data they handled.

From that moment, the agents began a round of interviews in the closest environment, and detected contradictions in the statement of the sheriff of the Hinojal City Council and a friend of the missing person.

The armed force assures that during the investigation period, José María Lindo significantly hindered the investigative work that fell on him, taking advantage of the direct information he had from Vicente Sánchez's family.

The investigations determined that the sheriff was in a cafeteria on the same day of the disappearance with the victim, who had won money in the lottery a few years before.

Precisely that day, Vicente had bought a round-trip bus ticket to do banking procedures and withdraw money in Cáceres.

From that moment on, the direct relationship between the economic motive and the disappearance remained the main hypothesis.

Thus, the rest of the subsequent investigations were redirected towards the victim's

, her daily habits and the destinations she frequented.

According to the Civil Guard, in addition to stealing the money that the victim had just withdrawn from the bank, the detainee appropriated his personal documentation and bank accounts, and then hid the body in a place far from Hinojal and difficult to access.

Lindo also carried out different operations through his accounts.

Once arrested, and aware that the investigation was focused on him, José María Lindo changed his attitude and showed collaboration with the agents to clarify the facts, acknowledging that he murdered Vicente.

The lifeless body was found in the Arroyo del Fresno area, a place near the Vaquera pond, belonging to the municipality of Hinojal.

Currently, different studies of genetic profiles of the body are being carried out, obtained from the analysis of biological identification samples by the Criminalistics Service of the Civil Guard, as well as the autopsy by the Institute of Legal Medicine of Cáceres.

Death is believed to have occurred due to strangulation.

The detainee was brought to justice on Saturday.

Lindo accused himself in the presence of the head of the Court of First Instance and Instruction number 3 of Cáceres, who ordered his entry into provisional prison, communicated and without bail.
