Because the construction company needs space for storage and parking at the future Hotel Severin's in Rottach-Egern, trees in the spa complex now had to be felled.
Rottach-Egern - In order to ensure that the large construction site for the Hotel Severin's was carried out properly and, above all, safely, the municipality of Rottach-Egern had two trees felled in its spa complex.
A chestnut and a linden tree, both around 50 years old, had to give way to Rottacher Seestrasse because of the cramped conditions at this point.
“Difficulties were inevitable at the bottleneck,” explains Gerhard Hofmann, manager at the town hall, when asked.
The municipality sees itself as responsible for ensuring that the hotel construction site runs smoothly, particularly from a safety perspective for road users.
Trees felled - because construction company needs space
With a view to the upcoming season, all options were weighed up together with the Zech Group as the building owner and the conclusion was that Rottach-Egern would make part of the spa complex available at short notice as a storage and parking zone for the construction site.
You would slide about three meters into the community park.
“We consider this to be a good solution,” said Hofmann, emphasizing the consensus.

The Zech Group not only pays rent for the site, but also covers any costs incurred, for example for planting new trees.
According to Hofmann, the linden and chestnut trees were not irreplaceable, ancient giants.
They were felled by the building yard on time before February 29th.
“Everyone is trying to ensure that the major project goes well, safely and quickly,” explains the manager.
