The management of a company only meant well.

But their free fruit offer for employees didn't go down as well as planned.

Munich – Many people swear by the principle “Do it right or leave it alone!”

A company probably didn't take it that seriously - at least according to the opinion of many users online.

Company offers employees fruit for free - but only under strict guidelines

A healthy workforce is important for the success of a company.

The management in question probably thought that too.

A note says: “We would like to support you this year with additional vitamins and thus help you get through the next few months healthy and well.”

This notice from a company ended up online.

The rules caused some shaking of heads.

That's why those responsible have provided fruit baskets in the kitchens and canteens of the respective departments.

“Every day you can choose between an apple or an orange/tangerine,” the message says.

So far so good, but the offer comes with strict and clear rules, as the wording of the notice reveals:

  • “Each employee only eats one piece of fruit every day”

  • “None of the fruit on offer is taken home (theft)”

“All or nothing”: Users on X are amused by fruit basket rules for employees

The two rules are apparently intended to prevent employees from grabbing fruit unhindered.

Unlike the recent mysterious gas station notice, the bosses' message is clear.

However, the management is met with a lack of understanding among many users on the Internet.

A user writes on

Or just do it right.

If the basket is empty: Just refill it.” Another user also thinks: “All or not at all, although that borders on 'not at all'.”

One man goes one step further and suggests: “I would limit toilet paper to a maximum of seven sheets per day.

And washing your hands once a day is enough.”

It's unclear whether the company would actually sanction employees who take more than one piece of fruit.

But one user has at least discovered a not so serious formal error that could protect employees in an emergency.

He asserts: “Only valid if laminated.”
