A weapon displayed for a trivial skirmish?
A 36-year-old man from Étampes was arrested for threatening a motorist armed with a revolver last week.
He was presented to the Évry-Courcouronnes court this Monday March 11 as part of an immediate appearance.
Due to the overcrowding of the hearing, his trial was postponed to a later date.
The case began five days earlier, when a traffic accident occurred not far from the RN 20, south of Étampes.
A van hits another vehicle.
The two occupants exit.
The driver of the utility vehicle insults the second.
A few minutes later, the altercation continued in Saclas.
Arrested with the help of RAID
More violently this time.
According to the motorist's account, the man in the van threatened him with a gun pointed right in front of his nose.
An investigation is opened at the local police station.
Less than two days later, the suspect, Jimmy D., 36, was arrested by the police, supported by the elite RAID unit.
Placed in police custody, the thirty-year-old denied the facts, despite the evidence gathered against him, including the use of video surveillance cameras.

Monday March 11, Jimmy D. was presented to the criminal court for an immediate appearance.
He is accused not only of violence with a weapon, the hit-and-run and driving without a license and without insurance from last week, but also for other traffic offenses, dating back to 2020 and 2022: driving while under the influence of alcohol in recidivism, two refusals to comply… Not to mention the convictions already handed down in the past by the courts, in particular for violence.
While awaiting his trial, the suspect was kept in detention.
