“Everything we do is legal,” assures Alain Drach, boatswain of Futaie des amis, the Compiégnoise houndstower (Oise).
For the huntsman, those who say the opposite “disturb people who are in their right”.
The latter points the finger at the members of the collective Abolissons la Vénerie Today (AVA), who also declare that they are not doing anything illegal.
“We just take photos to alert people to the situation,” says the manager, Stanislas Broniszewski.
If the hunting season ended at the end of February - but not for huntsmen who have authorization to practice until the end of March - it turned out to be particularly calm in the Compiègne national forest, with the clash between the two camps for years seeming to mark time.
At least, until now.
On March 2, a filmed confrontation degenerated between Lisa, an anti-hunting activist, and a horsewoman from La Futaie des amis.
