Everything boils down to a new edition of the duel between Joe Biden and Donald Trump on November 5th.
Both candidates dominate the primaries.
Washington, DC - US President Joe Biden and his election challenger Donald Trump have secured the necessary number of delegate votes for renewed presidential candidacies in the current primary elections.
According to forecasts from the major US television networks, Biden and Trump won their parties' primaries in the states of Georgia, Mississippi and Washington on Tuesday (March 13, local time).
Trump thus exceeded the number of 1,215 delegates that he needs to be re-elected as the presidential candidate of his party, the Republicans.
Biden, in turn, exceeded the number of 1,968 delegates he needs from his Democratic Party.
This means that the presidential election on November 5th will be a repeat of the 2020 election, in which Biden defeated the then incumbent Trump - which Trump still does not accept to this day.

The 77-year-old right-wing populist Trump has effectively been the Republican presidential candidate since his last intra-party rival Nikki Haley dropped out of the presidential race after Super Tuesday last week.
For the Democrats, the outcome of the primaries was almost certain from the start: Biden had no serious competitors for the 2024 US elections from his own ranks.
US election 2024: The hot election campaign phase begins
The presidential candidates of the two major US parties will be formally chosen at party conferences in the summer after the nationwide primaries, which run until June.
The Republican convention takes place in July in Milwaukee and the Democratic convention in August in Chicago.
The deeply divided USA is now facing a bitter election campaign in which two opponents, each extremely unpopular in the opposing camp, will engage in a merciless head-to-head race for the White House.
The election outcome is likely to be groundbreaking for the USA and also decide on the role of the largest economy and military power in the world.

What happens after the primaries?
Donald Trump should now have to decide who he wants to have at his side in the election campaign as vice president-elect.
It is still unclear who will be chosen - a number of names are circulating, including that of his former competitor Haley.
When it comes to Biden, it probably comes down to his current Vice President Kamala Harris, who, however, has rather low popularity ratings.
It is also unclear whether, in addition to the nephew of former US President John F. Kennedy, Robert F. Kennedy, another celebrity will throw his hat into the ring as an independent candidate - and thus possibly reshuffle the cards again.
An independent candidate will not win the race, but could cost Trump or Biden crucial votes.
