On Monday evening (March 11th), a telephone joker on “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” not only amazed Günther Jauch, but also caused incomprehension among RTL viewers.
Cologne – Anyone who climbs up the winnings ladder in “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” will sooner or later reach the point where nothing works without a joker.
Florian Bindl (27) from Tännesberg in Bavaria went without help for a long time, but then had to lose three jokers in the 32,000 euro question.
Günther Jauch's (67) candidate also didn't get any further with the 64,000 euro question.
Günther Jauch can hardly believe it: “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” Joker hasn’t seen an episode
That's why the young journalist put everything on one card: Because his "Who wants to be a millionaire?" question was about the PISA study, Bindl chose his now retired, former German teacher Ulrich Wohlgemuth as the telephone joker.
As a long-time educator, he seemed to be a perfect contact for the school performance studies carried out by the OECD.
Wohlgemuth revealed another educational gap: he had never seen an edition of the RTL quiz show and only knew it “from the program guides”.
However, you didn't notice that at first: "You want to lead me down the wrong path," he complained to Günther Jauch for no reason when the moderator only wanted to tell him in advance that the question was about the PISA tests.
“I'll briefly familiarize you with the rules,” the “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” favorite offered his help instead of letting the unsuspecting Joker appear.
Florian Bindl failed on this 64,000 euro question on Monday evening
How old are the majority of students whose skills are compared in the international PISA studies?
A: 6 years
B: 10 years
C: 15 years
D: 18 years
Not much help: RTL viewers stunned by the “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” joker
But when the retiree wanted to help his former student, his lack of knowledge took its toll on “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?”
For most of the 30 seconds that they had discussed, Wohlgemut settled on answer C), but at the last moment he changed again: “Or go with B),” he shouted before the time was up.
Reason enough for Florian Bindl to stop - a decision that Jauch could understand: "How immediately and without justification it drifted to B) - that wasn't clear to me either," the moderator was surprised.

The RTL viewers also reacted largely in disbelief to the unhelpful telephone joker, as several posts on or “He’s never seen the show?”
The best prerequisite is to have a joker who doesn't know what it's about..." it said in correspondingly perplexed reactions.
The RTL veteran himself recently caused amazement: Günther Jauch answered a question before the candidate answered.
