- Next Thursday, March 14th, the nationwide test alarm will take place in Bavaria.
In addition to the existing sirens used by municipalities and district administration authorities, other warning devices, such as warning apps, are also being tested.
According to information from the Freising district office, the test alarm serves to inform the population of the importance of the siren signal and to check the functionality of the existing warning systems.
Warning apps and sirens will sound the alarm on Thursday, March 14th
At around 11 a.m., the Bavarian State Ministry of the Interior, Sport and Integration will centrally trigger the warning devices and warning multipliers connected to the Modular Warning System (MoWaS) for the whole of Bavaria (this includes in particular Cell Broadcast and the warning apps NINA, KATWARN and BIWAPP).
At the same time, municipal authorities can manually trigger warning devices within their area of responsibility that are not directly connected to MoWaS, such as loudspeaker announcements, administrative websites, authority hotlines or sirens.
For the Freising district, the sirens to warn the population are triggered by the Erding Integrated Control Center (ILS).
