(1926) does not seem to have aged.
The capital is still rejected by some of its inhabitants, who willingly sacrifice its advantages in favor of a real village life, greener and less stressful.
Young couples, who no longer agree to start a family at any cost, are the prime examples.
There is no question of living crammed into a Parisian apartment, with no greenery or peace nearby!
Even more so when certain towns in the eastern suburbs promise a better living environment less than an hour from Paris Gare de Lyon, with a few compromises.
“Without mentioning a massive trend of fleeing the city, since Covid we have regularly welcomed families looking for a less urbanized environment
,” observes a Seine-et-Marne mayor.
Be careful, however, to avoid certain pitfalls, because the attractiveness of a municipality will not always match that of its neighbor, depending on the policies implemented by elected officials (housing, childcare, education, etc.).
