The European directive on green homes will lead to the redevelopment "in a few years of over 500 thousand public buildings and around 5 million private buildings with the poorest performance, each of which is made up of one or more real estate units. Not counting new buildings".

This is the estimate of Fillea CGIL.

With 55% of the reduction in energy consumption to be achieved through the renovation of buildings with lower performance, by 2030 - calculates the union - "the renovations will have to involve 15% of properties in class F and G and, by 2033, the 26% of the buildings have the lowest energy class. That is, 43% of the least efficient buildings will have to be redeveloped".
