Green MP Aurélien Taché suspended after announcing his support for LFI in the European elections

Highlights: Green MP Aurélien Taché suspended after announcing his support for LFI in the European elections. The elected official from Val-d'Oise justified this breaking of the ban by serious strategic disagreements with the leadership of the environmentalist party. Today close to Jean-Luc Mélenchon, the one who assures Le Parisien that his speech has “never varied” despite his changes of team. “Frankly, no one cares,” thunders those around Marine Tondelier.

This public support earned the elected representative from Val-d'Oise, formerly of the PS and LREM, a procedure within the Ecologists which could lead to exclusion.

Like a political chameleon, MP Aurélien Taché once again changes color.

He breaks with Les Écologists by loudly supporting in

Le Parisien

this Wednesday the list of La France insoumise in the European elections.

The Green Party decided to

“unanimously”

exclude the MP from its ranks.

Before joining him in October 2022, Aurélien Taché was a member of the Macronist party La République en Marche (now Renaissance) from 2017 to 2020. He began his political career within the Socialist Party, notably advising the Ministers of Housing Sylvia Pinel and Emmanuelle Cosse under François Hollande.

The elected official from Val-d'Oise justified this breaking of the ban by serious strategic disagreements with the leadership of the environmentalist party.

“The movement is not at all taking the path of the mass party and what popular ecology could be

,” he criticizes in

Le Parisien

, targeting national secretary Marine Tondelier by name.

“For political ecology seen in the big picture, it is not with them that we will have to deal

,” adds Aurélien Taché.

He also explains his support for the rebellious candidate in the June 9 election by his attachment to the Nupes program.

The defector confirmed his presence at the launch meeting of Manon Aubry's campaign on Saturday.

What place in the Assembly?

The environmentalist party, although it confirms the suspension of Aurélien Taché and his probable eventual exclusion, refuses to comment on his remarks.

“Frankly, no one cares

,” thunders those around Marine Tondelier.

“We are currently in Martinique to discuss really more interesting subjects

,” sweeps this source.

The status of the deputy was, however, not decided in the National Assembly.

The suspension

“does not prevent me from remaining within the environmentalist group in the Assembly

,” Aurélien Taché told AFP.

“I hope so, and the president of the group Cyrielle Chatelain expressed her wish that I stay

,” he added.

Today close to Jean-Luc Mélenchon, the one who assures Le

Parisien

that his speech has

“never varied”

despite his changes of team had sharply criticized the three-time candidate for the presidential election in the past.

In 2018, for example, in a tweet:

“No harsh enough words against Europe and the USA but nothing on Assad and Putin, a false stigmatization of immigrants who would put pressure on wages, slogans to stir up anger but none proposal... The National Rally?

No, Jean-Luc Mélenchon at the summer lecture halls of La France insoumise

.

Rebelote in 2019:

“The day when Jean-Luc Mélenchon criticized Marine Le Pen for not being nationalist enough has arrived... What a nightmare.

But where will he stop?
