Cabinet Secretary Alfredo Mantovano sounded the alarm about the number of significant cyberattacks Italy faces each day as he presented a bill on strengthening cyber security in parliament.
"In 2023 the National Cybersecurity Agency dealt with 1,411 events with impacts on Italian entities, about 117 per month, with a significant increase compared to 2022," Mantovano told the Lower House's constitutional affairs and justice committees.
He added that pro-Russian and pro-Palestinian groups "areparticularly active" in denial of service (DDOS) attacks.
