While last Monday the district committee in the Unterallgäu district office was informed about the construction work of the Allgäu clinic network, work on demolishing the northern parking deck of the Mindelheim clinic had just begun.

Mindelheim - The entire construction project in the district town will be completed with the completion of the new ward block in 2030. Florian Glück, managing director of the clinic association, estimated the total costs of the new building in the building committee at currently expected 102 million euros.

For District Administrator Alex Eder, the new building project will significantly strengthen the Mindelheim location.

Eder was also proud of the completion of the previous construction work at the Ottobeuren Clinic.

The financing phase there was completed just one year after completion.

There, the state's funding share amounted to just over half of the total costs.

He also praised the optimistic spirit of the entire team “in the beautiful little hospital in the southern district.”

Luck confirmed the successful upswing in Ottobeuren.

The performance figures there are significantly higher than in the same period last year, which also confirms that the hospital is very well received.

The district administrator also expects a spirit of optimism for the new building in Mindelheim.

Nevertheless, he points out that the financing cannot be completed as quickly in Mindelheim as in Ottobeuren, given that the construction costs are three times larger.

In Mindelheim, the district will provide the lion's share of the financing with almost half of the costs, the state will support around 40 percent and the Allgäu Hospital Association will contribute around 14 million euros (a good 13 percent) to the construction costs.

The current demolition of the Mindelheim parking deck will probably not cause any traffic disruption until the end of May.

Only from the beginning of June will Hospitalstrasse be a one-way street from Bad Wörishofer Strasse towards Kaufbeurer Strasse.
