Always give 100 percent – at least.

This is how Rudolf Daubner lived his life, professionally, privately and in voluntary work.

He died at the age of 66.

Mammendorf - He expanded the family business for sanitary installation and heating construction, which he took over in the fourth generation in 1989, into a medium-sized company with ten employees.

In his capacity as a water warden, he saved the community a lot of money because he was able to immediately track down every burst pipe.

Reading Mammendorf's water consumption has been part of Rudolf Daubner's daily routine since he took over the position of water warden from his father in 2007.

If he noticed an unusual climb, he set off with a search device.

In emergencies he was also there at night.

Drawings of the pipe network

The gas-water installer and heating engineer knew the water network in his hometown like the back of his hand, as he and his employees had laid most of the house connections themselves.

He advised his successor until the end and left him drawings of the pipe network, which he made shortly before his death.

Rudi, as everyone called him, went full throttle, even in his free time.

In earlier years he played football, appeared on stage as an amateur actor and directed.

The father of three children demonstrated his special talent with his deceptively real Hans Moser parodies - and as part of the four-piece Kirta Lump'n, which caused a local sensation with their cabaret performances.

At the Kirta festival

This always took place as part of a large Kirta festival that Rudi Daubner and his 20 colleagues - the so-called Kirtablos'n - organized with great effort.

Two or more year intervals ensured that the event remained special.

The money raised went as a donation to the church - sometimes for a new baptismal font, sometimes for the organ.

Promoting public life in his hometown was a matter of course for the long-time firefighter and parish councilor.

He supported ten clubs and organizations with his membership.

He enjoyed spending his free time and holidays with his beloved family - his wife Marlene and their children Fabiola, Veronika and Valentin - cycling, hiking or on snow-covered slopes.

Now Rudi is missing in every corner - his humor, his loving nature, his reliability and openness.

He and his wife had planned a lot, but a serious illness robbed him of his twilight years.

He was no longer allowed to experience the birth of his second granddaughter.
