Out of concern for Grandpa: Man goes to the scene of the accident as a wrong-way driver
The young man and his grandfather were on their way to Bulgaria in separate cars late on Sunday evening.
The older man was in a rear-end collision.
The 21-year-old, who had not noticed the accident near Neumarkt, stopped at a rest stop near Velburg in the Neumarkt district in Upper Palatinate to wait for his grandfather.
When the grandfather called his grandson and informed him of the accident, the young man drove about nine kilometers in the wrong direction from the rest stop back to the scene of the accident.
There he told the police that he had acted out of great concern for his grandfather.
