With less than 135 days until Paris 2024, it is still possible to find a job linked to the Olympic Games and add this little line which will make a plus on your CV.

This Thursday, March 14, candidates will meet with 70 companies and training organizations gathered all day, at the Docks de Paris, in Aubervilliers (Seine-Saint-Denis).

More than 12,500 CDD but also CDI offers will be available according to France Travail Île-de-France (formerly Pôle Emploi) and the Organizing Committee (Cojo) which co-pilot this giant recruitment forum.

This new large-scale operation follows the first and spectacular campaign which took place on September 26, 2023, at the Cité du cinéma, in the very heart of the Athletes' Village, in Saint-Denis, where around 16,000 positions were to be filled.

Since then, several meetings have taken place in Île-de-France: at the national velodrome in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines (Yvelines), as well as meetings in Eaubonne (Val-d'Oise) and even in Villepinte.

Security, hospitality, cleaning, transport and logistics

“We are in the home stretch, the needs are clear and precise, everyone has their own road map in terms of recruitment,” analyzes Chantal Lasnier, talent and diversity manager at Paris 2024. Five thematic villages will be set up at Docks, to help candidates find their way and target a job in their field of expertise.

Unsurprisingly, the flagship sector looking for help for Paris 2024 is still that of security: 38 companies will participate in the forum this Thursday.

The needs remain significant, while France Travail has already supported more than 18,400 people since September 2022, so that they can follow training in this area and then apply for security guard positions for the Olympic Games.

According to figures finalized at the end of January 2024, more than 10,400 have been hired in private security companies.

Many women (up to 30% of recruits) have also taken up this traditionally male profession.

At the Docks forum, eight employers will offer positions in cleaning and waste management, seven others in the hotel and catering industry and finally eight companies will recruit for transport, logistics and energy.

“The Olympic Games create 190,000 direct jobs,” recalls Sophie Damolida, new territorial director of France Travail, in Seine-Saint-Denis.

To participate is to be at the heart of the reactor, it's once in your life.

“Adapting to a changing and complex environment”

And to be as close as possible to the inside of the organization, job seekers will also be able to apply for one of the 1,400 offers from Cojo Paris 2024. “The vast majority of our recruitments will be for management positions. supervision and coordination of the activity of service providers.

This is what makes our opportunities a little different,” explains Chantal Lasnier.

The Olympic organization will have approximately 4,500 employees at peak activity during the competition period.

“We need people who have initial operational experience and who know how to adapt to a changing and complex environment: it’s huge and there are many actors who interact,” continues Chantal Lasnier.

“The employees who join us will have a strong responsibility that they will be able to put to good use after the Games.

There is an exceptional, unique and even fraternity character in what we experience,” concludes the woman who has already worked for Cojo for more than five years.

Already 4,500 people have registered to come with their CV this Thursday, but entry is free: 32 advisers from France Travail will also be on deck to welcome the public, monitor the candidates and mediate with the recruiters.

Parents can come with their very young children: a free temporary crèche will be available to them.

“The Games are recruiting” employment forum, this Thursday, March 14, from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the Docks de Paris, in Aubervilliers (Seine-Saint-Denis), 87, avenue des Magasins-Généraux.
