On the EU Green Homes Directive, approved yesterday, "compared to how it was set out in the first proposal of the European Union, I must say that many steps forward have been made. The restriction to 2030 in class D has been removed, the times have been set longer, we have moved from individual constraints to State constraints.Certainly some steps of constraints in 2030 and 2040 are difficult to achieve for our country, due to the real estate characteristics of our country, with dated properties spread across the territory, and due to widespread ownership. The intervention must be evaluated with great caution."
This was said by the Minister of the Environment and Energy Security, Gilberto Pichetto, on the sidelines of the Sustainable Intermodality Forum in Rome.
