Roma Tre University has decided to name 12 classrooms of the University after as many innocent victims of the mafia: a symbolic gesture, an indelible memory and a tangible commitment to remember and honor those who have lost their lives due to a vile and ruthless crime.
The "Roma Tre against the mafia" initiative will be presented on Monday 18 March at 3pm with an event to be held in the AulaMagna of the Rectorate (via Ostiense, 133).
After the institutional greetings entrusted to the rector Massimiliano Fiorucci, and the general director, Alberto Attanasio, and the introduction by professor Anna Lisa Tota, vice-rector, Don Luigi Ciotti, President Libera, will speak.
Associations, names and numbers against the mafias, Vincenza Rando, senator of the Italian Republic and member of the parliamentary commission of inquiry into the phenomenon of the mafias and other criminal associations, including foreign ones, Nando DallaChiesa, president of the Italian scientific society for studies on mafias and anti-mafia (Sisma) and honorary president of Libera, Paolo Borrometi, co-director of the Italian Journalism Agency, and Roma Tre student, Vittoria Podo.
Professor Marco Catarci, vice-rector of the TerzaMissione, coordinates the meeting.
With this spirit, Roma Tre adheres, giving its patronage, to the "XXIX Day of Remembrance and Commitment in memory of the innocent victims of the mafia", the initiative organized in Rome on 21 March 2024 by Libera.
