The US President emphasizes that there is a need for action.

Washington DC – US President Joe Biden warned that Russia “will not stop with Ukraine” at a meeting with Polish President Andrzej Duda and Prime Minister Donald Tusk.

“As Poland remembers, Russia will not stop with Ukraine,” Biden said in Washington, DC Russian President Vladimir Putin will “go ahead and endanger Europe, the United States and the entire free world.”

Duda and Tusk appear united in Washington to stand up to Putin together

To support Ukraine, the two rivals put aside their domestic differences.

Before the two left for the United States, Duda commented on the planned meeting: "The entire political scene in Poland, I dare say, is coming together to show that we are united on issues of our country's security," Tusk added He added: “Politically, I disagree with President Andrzej Duda on almost all issues, but when it comes to the security of our homeland, we must and will act together.”

Putin had repeatedly threatened Warsaw since the beginning of the Russian invasion.

In the infamous interview with Tucker Carlson, the Russian president recently claimed that Poland was partly to blame for Hitler's attack that triggered World War II.

Biden clearly: “We have to act” – cruise missiles and medium-range missiles for Poland

In Washington, Biden saw the situation similarly: “We have to act before it is literally too late,” emphasized the US President when he received Duda and Tusk.

Immediately before the meeting in the White House, the USA announced the sale of missiles worth 3.5 billion dollars (3.2 billion euros) to Poland.

The State Department informed the US Congress that it had approved the sale of air-to-surface cruise missiles for 1.77 billion and air-to-air medium-range missiles for 1.69 billion.

Poland continues to be a major supporter of Kiev in the Ukraine war.

As the European spearhead, Poland has already supplied Ukraine with 320 Soviet tanks and 14 MiG-29 fighter jets.

Now Poland wants to increase its depleted weapons arsenal and is primarily buying American and South Korean weapons systems in order to be prepared for an emergency against Putin, as the

“Clear and courageous response” to Putin’s invasion: Duda for a three percent NATO target

Shortly before his departure to Washington, Poland's head of state Duda called on NATO member states to increase their defense spending to three percent of gross domestic product (GDP) in response to the Russian war in Ukraine.

NATO must give a “clear and courageous response to Russian aggression”.

The member states currently have to meet a two percent mark, which the NATO heads of state and government set as the lower limit at their summit in Lithuania last year.

The USA and Poland are clearly above this with defense spending of 3.5 and four percent of their GDP respectively.

The meeting between Biden, Duda and Tusk took place on the 25th anniversary of Poland's accession to NATO.
