called a special session in the Senate to
discuss this Thursday the mega Decree of Necessity and Urgency (DNU)
signed by President Javier Milei, which deregulates the economy and modifies more than 300 laws.
The vice president's decision, reported exclusively by

, was in response to the session requests raised by the Unión por la Patria (UxP) and the federal blocks of the Upper House.
The call was formalized this Tuesday while the Parliamentary Labor meeting is scheduled for this Wednesday at 6 p.m., if the legislators arrive from the interior due to the complications that exist with flights due to the strong storm that hits Buenos Aires and the AMBA .
The agenda includes
the project that updates the legislation against money laundering
, which obtained a commission opinion last February and has half the approval of Deputies.
The proposal was part of an understanding that Argentina signed with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and also provides for the suggestions of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF).

The President defined as "unbelievable" the fact that "we are receiving deposits in dollars from the financial system at a zero rate."
For this session, the withdrawal of documents, the agreement for diplomats, and the authorization of the President's entry and exit from the country will also be discussed, as reported by the ruling party by the presidency of the Senate.
Also included were the agreements for the elimination of double taxation signed with China, Turkey and the Arab Emirates.
Villarruel's decision to grant the opposition's request for a session comes after Javier Milei ordered the vice president and the head of the Chamber of Deputies, Martín Menem, to go back with the 30% increase in the salaries of the legislators.
For this reason, Villarruel and Menem signed a resolution this Monday that annuls, retroactively “as of January 1,” the measure signed by Amado Boudou and Julián Domínguez, in 2011, which allowed deputies and senators to join the joint agreements signed with the unions of legislative employees.
Precisely, based on that agreement, the deputies were able to increase their salaries to $2.5 million including per diem, representation expenses and uprooting.
In this way, the Senate will advance with the treatment in the chamber of the mega decree, which was being debated within the framework of the bicameral commission on Legislative Procedure.

would be summoned again for this Thursday .
However, the vice president ended up granting the request of the Unión por la Patria bloc, which had repeatedly requested that a session be called to discuss Milei's DNU.

It is worth clarifying that the DNU can be ratified only with the approval of one of the chambers.
But, in Kirchnerism they know that if the decree is rejected by the Senate it will generate a climate so that it will also be disapproved in Deputies, where the ruling party has a little more chance of winning the positive vote.

The thing is that the request for a session of Kirchnerism, which has 33 seats, was also added to the request of the federal blocks with the signature of 9 legislators.
La Libertad Avanza sought to take the discussion of the DNU to the bicameral Legislative Procedure, which was formed three weeks ago after Martín Menem presented the names of the deputies designated for that body.
Then the ruling party, in tandem with the Pro, tried to stretch the discussion in the commission by summoning Executive officials to explain the terms of the decree.
But, the president of the bicameral Juan Carlos Pagotto (LLA) decided to postpone the summons of the officials after legislators from the Pro and the UCR presented a note asking that the decrees be treated chronologically, starting with those that had remained from the administration. by Alberto Fernández.
Faced with the failure of the officials, the commission agreed to reconvene the officials of Milei's cabinet, but now Villarruel decided to turn the page and granted the opposition's request for the decree to be discussed in the chamber.

there was no way to prevent it from being debated in the chamber
