During the test alarm on March 14th, some sirens also sounded in the Munich district.
Several warning apps are also being tested.
District - On Thursday, March 14th, a test of the sirens and other warning devices will be carried out at around 11 a.m. as part of the nationwide uniform test alarm.
The Munich District Office provides information about this.
This test is part of a coordinated disaster warning system.
Various warning apps such as NINA, KATWARN and BIWAPP as well as Cell Broadcast are activated centrally by the State Ministry of the Interior via the Federal Modular Warning System (MoWaS).
In addition, reported sirens are activated by the fire department operations center.
These municipalities are there
In the Munich district, the municipalities of Aying (including Dürrnhaar and Großhelferdorf), Neubiberg, Ottobrunn, Straßlach (with Großdingharting) and the city of Unterschleißheim take part.
The test alarm is used to check the functionality of the warning systems and to inform the population about the meaning of the siren signal.
The howling tone is intended to encourage the public to turn on their radios and pay attention to announcements in the event of serious threats to public safety.
At 11:45 a.m. the Federal Office for Civil Protection and Disaster Assistance (BBK) sent an all-clear signal.
Further information about the test alarm can be found on the homepage of the State Ministry of the Interior, Sport and Integration.
