These are five rural settlements that will be established in the Arad Valley, north of Highway 31 and on both sides of Highway 80. Four of them will be established for the general population and will have 500 housing units, and one settlement will be established for the Bedouin population living in the area and will have 1,000 housing units.
The sub-committee of the National Council for Planning and Construction, headed by Liat Peled, recommended that the National Council approve five new rural settlements in the Northern Negev region.
This, following the government's decision No. 1325 of 27.3.22 on the establishment of a settlement zone in the northern Negev region.
Now, with the approval of the plan, the promotion of the detailed planning of these five settlements will begin.
Simultaneously with the approval of the new settlements, the plan doubles the area of the Tel Arad National Park and it will cover an area of approximately 3,000 dunams.
The approval of these settlements joins the nearby city of Kasif at the Tel Arad junction, which was approved in November 2022, thus bringing both urban and rural development to the area surrounding Arad, in a way that will contribute to its development as a central city in the east of the Beer Sheva metropolis.
