The electric car manufacturer wants to expand production at its only European car factory in Grünheide.
But an attack causes uncertainty.
Now company boss Musk has spoken out.
Grünheide - Tesla boss Elon Musk has committed to expanding Europe's only car factory even after the attack on the power supply to the factory in Grünheide near Berlin.
“Yes, absolutely,” said Musk on Wednesday while visiting the “Gigafactory” in Grünheide in Brandenburg when asked by a journalist whether further expansion was planned.
“I think it's a great place.” The Tesla boss came to the factory for a short visit after a power pole that also supplies the factory's power supply burned last week.
Tesla wants to increase production from the planned 500,000 cars per year to one million, most recently it was extrapolated to 300,000 cars per year.
According to the company, around 12,500 employees work in Grünheide.
Environmentalists and residents have major concerns about the factory, as it is partly located in a water protection area.
