Learn more about marine ecosystems and help protect them.
Sea Explorers is a project developed by Coop for the protection of the environment in collaboration with Eiis (European Institute of Innovation for Sustainability) and open to young climate activists under 35.
The course consists of a 4-step path, with two online lessons, boat experiences and then snorkeling in a protected area.
At the heart of the project, a note explains, "raise awareness on the topic of marine biodiversity which is increasingly at risk, threatened by pollution, wild anchoring of boats, uncontrolled coastal development. Its conservation is essential to guarantee the health of marine ecosystems and promote a sustainable coastal underwater environment as well as to prevent beach erosion".
After 85 hours of training and experience on sea with the observation of some sea meadows on the Tuscan and Doric coast, carried out by scientific experts from the University of Genoa, specialized operators from the International School for Scientific Diving, the culmination of the journey will see in September 10 selected among the participants in the various training stages of the Sea Explorers, boarding a sailing boat for a further cognitive experience at sea.
The entire training course is free and, in the first training phase, also open to under 18s. Registration is already open and will remain open until 8 April.
