Unknown people break into the Heimstetten fire department and loot around 10,000 euros.
Heimstetten
- Thieves pried open the rolling gate of the Heimstetten Volunteer Fire Department on Hurdle Street around 11 p.m. on the night of Monday to Tuesday.
They broke into the vehicle hall and stole valuable tools from two emergency vehicles, the police report.
This includes both rescue spreaders, writes fire department Heimstetten on social networks, which is why they are now only partially operational.
Damage of 10,000 euros
The spreaders are used, for example, to free people who are trapped from cars and trucks after accidents.
To do this, roofs or doors on vehicles are cut open.
The special devices are also used by criminals as burglary tools.
The police estimate the damage caused to the loot at 10,000 euros, and the damage to the equipment shed amounts to 1,000 euros, according to the police.
The police department is investigating.
Witnesses who have noticed anything unusual in the area of Hurdlerstrasse and Sonnenallee are asked to contact the police: 089/ 2910-0.
