School life can be quite stressful, especially for teenagers.
The state of North Rhine-Westphalia now provides students with companions for months.
Dortmund – The transition from school to everyday work is like a culture shock for many.
Not only do students have to make important decisions for the future at a young age.
They also have to adapt to a completely new and unfamiliar life.
To support them, the state of North Rhine-Westphalia provides them with school companions.

Drive home quickly after class, do your homework and then enjoy the freedom.
In addition to duty, there is a lot of free time left, especially at a young age.
At some point, however, many teenagers ask themselves the crucial questions: “What do I want to achieve in my life?”
And how would I like to earn money, preferably a lot?”
Answering these important questions is anything but easy - and can also place mental strain on some adolescents.
The state of North Rhine-Westphalia wants to support students on this path in the form of school companions.
The new funding phase for prospective trainees has now started.
Thousands of NRW students are now supported by educators
Last year, around 5,000 young people were integrated into the measure.
NRW invested 32 million euros in supporting students.
The program supports you with career orientation, placement in internships and the search for a training position through individual advice and practical help such as application training.
The aim is to enable a successful start to training and the acquisition of a professional qualification.
Career entry support in North Rhine-Westphalia is provided with professional support by the Society for Innovative Employment Promotion (GIB).

Social educators actively intervene 18 months before graduation.
They support students with poorer starting opportunities in everyday life, at school and in choosing a career.
