In the Free State, the functionality of the warning system and the warning to citizens are being checked again.
On Thursday, March 14, 2024, from 11 a.m., the siren warning system will be tested, among other things.
Memmingen -
In the event of serious threats to public safety, the rising and falling howling sound lasting one minute should warn the population and prompt them to turn on radios and pay attention to announcements.
Memmingen is also taking part with mobile sirens at the Memmingen fire department and being triggered via warning apps, the city informs.
Test alarm from 11 a.m. – test of mobile sirens, warning apps and cell broadcast
The Bavarian Ministry of the Interior issues alerts centrally across Bavaria using the warning devices and warning multipliers connected to the Modular Warning System (MoWaS) (this includes the Cell-Broadcast mobile phone service and warning apps such as NINA, KATWARN and BIWAPP).
