In Italian Alberghi Diffusi, hospitality is a decisive factor against the depopulation of villages, it is seasonally adjusted with openings 10 months a year and focuses entirely on local catering.
This is what emerges from the survey that the National Association of Alberghi Diffusi carried out in February 2024, in view of the Open Day of Alberghi Diffusi, scheduled in Moricone (Rome) on 17 and 18 March.
In fact, the report reveals that a fifth of Italian widespread hotels have started their business since 2019, that on average each widespread hotel involves 7 different buildings very close to each other, has 19 rooms, for an average number of beds equal to 43 per structure.
The houses that make up the scattered hotels are very close: the maximum distance between the reception area - where the common areas are also located - and the most distant room is on average 180 metres.
And in this way the guest breathes the atmosphere of a 'hotel that is not built', and which does not create a negative impact on the environment, indeed it contributes to the development of the villages because it generates more than what is consumed.
In fact, from the survey it emerges that after the opening of a widespread hotel, in 84% of the villages there was the birth of new commercial or artisan businesses, in 71% of the villages non-residents were encouraged to buy a house there and in 77% of cases new inhabitants were attracted, but above all that, thanks to the complex of services, a job is created for every two rooms of a widespread hotel.
