The movement is taking root.

An inter-union group (FSU, CGT Educ'Action, Sud Éducation and CNT) is once again calling for a massive strike this Thursday in schools in Seine-Saint-Denis to demand an “emergency plan for 93”.

Several marches are due to leave from different towns this Thursday morning (Dugny, Aubervilliers, Montreuil, Le Raincy, Aulnay-sous-Bois, etc.) to converge towards the premises of the Directorate of Departmental Services of National Education (DSDEN) in Bobigny where a gathering is scheduled for 2 p.m.

The procession will then go to the Seine-Saint-Denis prefecture.

Since the start of the February vacation, the department has been affected by numerous strikes, with some teachers still not having returned to classes.

“We are in an unprecedented, extremely powerful movement,” assures Louise Paternoster, departmental co-secretary of the CGT Educ'Action 93. As a reminder, the inter-union is calling in particular for the creation of 5,200 teaching positions, 175 senior advisors education, 650 education assistants, 320 teaching assistants and 1,700 accompanying students with disabilities.

According to his calculations, 358 million euros would need to be invested to improve the education of students in the youngest and poorest department in France.

Pantin, this Wednesday.

An inter-union is calling for a strike again this Thursday.

The FCPE is organizing a “deserted schools, middle and high schools” operation this Friday.

Unions and MPs demand an interview with the minister

For almost three weeks, the unions have been demanding in vain to be received by the new Minister of National Education, Nicole Belloubet.

This Wednesday, they got an appointment with the rector.

Parents are also mobilized.

All the deputies from Seine-Saint-Denis, for their part, requested an interview with the minister.

Friday, the FCPE calls for a “deserted school, middle and high school” day.

Saturday morning, local demonstrations are also planned in front of the town halls of Lilas or Aubervilliers.

This Wednesday, Stéphane Troussel, the president (PS) of the departmental council – in charge of college buildings – also published a press release in which he demanded 240 million euros from the State (40 million euros per year until in 2030) to compensate for the expenses it incurs to create and maintain the department's colleges.

“The State only compensates our investments in college buildings to the tune of 8.8%, well below the national average which is 15%,” he underlines.

Union mobilization is expected to continue next week.

New calls for strike action have been launched for March 19, 20, 21 and 22.
